Out of love for his wife, the husband decided to climb the cliff to find medicine to save his wife, despite all obstacles. Carrying hundreds of wooden stakes to drive into the cliff, the husband overcame many difficulties to bring back precious medicinal plants and cure his wife’s diseases. The wooden stakes then naturally disappeared, and no one could climb the cliff to find the medicinal plant again.
On the top of the mountain, a pair of white cliffs then appear – the big side is called the Husband Cliff and the small side is the Wife Cliff. Every year, locals come here to hold a worship ceremony to commemorate the legendary story and the protection of the fairy and the cliff of the village.

Conquering the top of Ma Pi Leng Pass to the Volunteer Youth Memorial, continue for about a few hundred meters to the Museum of Happy Road. From this location, you will need to travel about 5 more kilometers to reach Death Rock. However, you can’t ride a motorbike all the way inside Death Cliff, so you’ll need to walk for a while.
From the section with the sign of Death Rock, you will continue 3km inward to the section with the gate of the Great Peak of Ma Pi Leng Pass.
